What we collect automatically

Like almost every website, arukas.black keeps standard web server logs for every visit, provided by our hosting infrastructure (AWS Amplify):

• IP address — used to measure unique visitors and detect automated traffic (bots, scanners).
• Browser and device information (user agent) — used to show which browsers/devices people use.
• Page requested, referring page, and timestamp — used to understand which pages are popular and how people navigate the site.
• Approximate location — derived from the nearest AWS server that handled your request, which is usually your city or a nearby major city, not a precise address.

We do not use cookies, scripts, or trackers to collect any of the above — it comes from server-level logs that exist regardless of what you do on the page.

Cookie for engagement analytics

When you first visit, we ask whether you'll allow one small first-party cookie. If you accept, we record, per page visit:

• How long you spent on the page
• How far down the page you scrolled

This is used only to understand which parts of the site people actually read, so we can improve it. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build a profile of you individually. If you decline, or don't respond, none of this is collected — only the automatic server logs above still apply.

If you contact us through a form

If you submit a contact or waitlist form, we store what you typed (e.g. name, email, message) so we can respond to you. We use this only to reply to your enquiry — not for unsolicited marketing, and not shared with third parties.

Manual IP lookups

Our team can, at their own discretion and one address at a time, look up which organization or internet provider an IP address in our logs belongs to (using a public IP-information service). This is done manually, is never automatic or bulk, and is used only to understand our traffic (for example, identifying automated scanners or security scans) — never to identify or contact an individual person.

What we don't do

• No advertising cookies or ad networks
• No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting
• No selling or sharing of visitor data with third parties
• No automated profiling of visitors for marketing outreach

Your choices

You can decline the analytics cookie at any time it's offered, and clearing your browser's cookies for this site removes it. Because our core traffic logs come from server infrastructure rather than your browser, they can't be individually opted out of — this is standard for any website.
